Customer Care Specialist

The Customer Care Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional customer service experiences through various channels, including phone calls and online interactions. This position encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, from providing account information to assisting with basic electronic banking transactions. Additionally, the Customer Care Specialist is entrusted with essential bookkeeping tasks and clerical duties integral to the department's operations.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming phone calls, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor
• Assist customers with inquiries regarding account details, electronic banking, and various banking products and services
• Respond promptly and professionally to emails from both customers and colleagues, addressing queries and concerns effectively
• Collaborate with other departments to address customer needs and ensure seamless service delivery
• Conduct credit card collections calls with tact and professionalism

2. Bookkeeping Functions:
• Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including verification of signature accounts and review of closed saving and checking accounts
• Enter accurate descriptions in the General Ledger for transactions and ensure thorough business check reviews
• Process deposit account verifications, mobile deposits, and credit card balancing efficiently
• Handle encoding corrections and monitor piggy savings accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
• Complete wire transfers received via fax or email and process debit card/credit card payments for loans or credit cards

3. Clerical Duties:
• Maintain overdraft logs and address changes, ensuring accuracy in records and filings
• Process stop payment requests and handle special statement cycles and mailings with attention to detail
• Scan completed work for documentation and maintain organized filing systems
• Prepare loan notices and tax documents manually as required

4. Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
• Attend training sessions to stay updated on compliance, security, and internal guidelines, completing all required online training modules
• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft suite products and Windows-based systems, adapting quickly to new job functions
• Multitask effectively in a fast-paced work environment, demonstrating personal accountability, self-motivation, and attention to detail

Commercial/ Ag Lender

The Agricultural & Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for increasing bank assets by soliciting, developing, and managing credit relationships with agricultural and commercial loan customers. This includes handling all types of commercial/agriculture loans. The ideal candidate will have a high level of initiative to develop customer contacts, sell, and cross-sell bank products. Exceptional people skills are required to deliver unparalleled customer service, represent the bank at public relation events, and align with MNB's mission statement.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Relationship Management:
• Develop and maintain new and existing customer relationships through a structured calling program
• Cross-sell MNB products to maximize customer relationships

Loan Portfolio Management:
• Achieve loan production goals as established in the bank's budget
• Manage loan portfolio growth, minimize portfolio run-off, and maintain high credit quality
• Ensure timely loan renewals and accurate loan documentation
• Be knowledgeable about the branch loan portfolio including balances, concentrations, yields, runoffs, and new opportunities
• Maintain loan delinquencies within acceptable past due percentages and mitigate bank risk through proactive management
• Ensure portfolio yields and loan rates align with bank guidelines

Loan Processing:
• Thoroughly understand and adhere to Bank loan policy
• Obtain and process loan applications efficiently
• Conduct timely loan analysis and make decisions, obtaining necessary approvals
• Prepare and present loan proposals to supervisors, committees, or the Board of Directors
• Handle denied loans respectfully and compassionately

Customer Service:
• Meet customer-established timetables for loan closings and information updates
• Return customer phone calls promptly

Community Engagement:
• Represent the bank in community events to foster good public relations and increase loan officer visibility
• Actively participate in business and agricultural organizations and events

Reporting & Compliance:
• Report to Senior Management as required
• Work closely with loan processing departments to meet processing time requirements


Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

Education and Prior Experience:
• College degree in agriculture, economics, or business
• Commitment to continuing education to broaden knowledge and expertise
• Two years of commercial/agricultural lending experience

Communication Skills:
• Effectively communicate information and respond to questions from both customers and Management
• Ability to speak persuasively in both positive and negative situations
• Create well-structured and correct reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Technical and Computer Skills:
• Proficient in all bank-utilized programs, especially in the area of work
• Competent in research and data collection
